We Nissan Sentra owners have known all along, the Nissan Sentra is an inexpensive, fun car to own. Now, in a review on Yahoo, the Nissan Sentra has been listed in the Top Ten Cheapest Cars to Own List. I’ve been laughing all the way to the bank with my car, so I wasn’t at all surprised to see the Nissan Sentra listed at number 10 in affordability.  I was actually surprised it wasn’t higher up the list!

Affordability is the key component of the list, and as some may not know that involves not only the price you pay for Nissan Sentra, and your down payment, and your monthly payments.  You also have to consider fuel consumption, maintenance, insurance costs, breakdowns and repairs(ie reliability), and depreciation. You really have to factor in all of these variables of your annual car budget to know if you are getting the most affordable car you can.  Reliability and wear and tear will obviously depend on how and where you use your Nissan Sentra, and how well you maintain it.

The Nissan Sentra comes with the most standard equipment of any of the top 1o cars on the list, including air conditioning, excellent stereo/cd system with four speakers, power locks and windows, etc.  Check the link for more details on the Nissan Sentra Specs.  Its four cylinder 2 litre engine gives the Sentra 140 hp, along with a miserly fuel consumption of 25 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway.  According to the study, the starting price of the Nissan Sentra is $16,070 and the 5 year total cost worked out to $29,623 (which includes all of the cost factors discussed above). This worked out to a cost per mile of $0.39 over the 5 years, assuming 15,000 miles of driving per year.

With the Cash For Clunkers program, buying a new Nissan Sentra this month, with the $4,500 cash back rebate, would make the low cost of owning a brand new Nissan Sentra EVEN lower!  Now’s the time to look at the Nissan Sentra!
